Parkour Part 1:

Parkour Part 1:

In the beginning there were shapes. Shapes of all shapes and sizes. Some are still around today and some were eaten by the dinosaurs during the Cretaceous and Jurassic time periods. Some are still yet to be discovered. Nevertheless it is indisputable that the first thing in existence was a shape. Nobody knows what shape it was, but everybody knows that this shape gave birth to the many shapes societies now rely upon for their way of life. Some scientists theorize that this primordial object took the form of a simple shape that most dumb preschoolers would recognize. The shape that the earth would eventually come to know as the triangle.

Other scientists’ calculations would suggest that the universe actually originated from a shape that most dumb preschoolers would not recognize. AKA, the Tripledoubledeckerhedron, a shape so rare it has never been photographed, and could be sold today for 18.75 billion dollars on the Portuguese black market. To this day, one of the greatest disputes in history still remains on the topic of the primordial shape, and what form it took. With one side known as the Triangle traditionalists, vehemently defending the theory that the universe was originally a triangle that broke apart into smaller pieces, creating all other shapes, and the other side known as the Tripledoubledecker disciples, insisting that since a triangle was a 2D shape, it could never exist in this 3D universe. There is a plethora of compelling evidence to support both sides of the argument, and no reasonable way to reach a conclusion.

Whether you are a triangle traditionalist or a tripledoubledecker disciple, everyone can agree that everything in this universe we all know and love, is a shape. Even human beings are shapes. Most people have heard the saying, “Cells are the building blocks of life”, however, very few have heard the saying, “Shapes are the building blocks of cells”, but that doesn’t make it any less true. The human body is made up of many shapes that all work together to make bigger shapes that all work together to make your body and all of the functions within. The interactions between shapes inside the human body is the only thing keeping us all alive. Such is the nature of the universe.

People all around the world had lived their lives for generations in complete ignorance of the importance of these defining principles, causing suffering and tragedy to befall them everywhere they went. They just needed to find a way to connect themselves to the absolute truths and patterns of the universe.

One day, the tripledoubledecker disciples and the triangle traditionalists put their animosity aside and got together to form a committee. A committee to find exactly what the world was looking for. How will the human race connect themselves with the ancient and all powerful essence of the universe, and avoid total extinction? This was the question at hand. It wasn’t long before there arose an answer from the committee. The answer involved maneuvering around, over, under, to the side of, and to the diagonal of… shapes. A new word was born on that day. PARKOUR.
